Ramblings of an American Madman

Ramblings of an American Madman - Just another day - stumbling and bumbling through the hours that make up a day - winding down another August but it just so happens this August is in the year 2009 - started my day by opening my eyes - but if you know me even with my eyes open I still look like I need to open my eyes so my stating that I opened my eyes to start my day it may appear to some that I am still not awake - went through the day and it was fairly uneventful - nothing that I can recall that was out of the ordinary or rambling worthy - I do want to comment briefly on the local story of the young boy that went missing and turns out his mother and the mother's boyfriend are probably the one's who killed him - it is a tragedy and probably more sensationalized because the public was involved in a massive search but I am not sure anyone will ever be able to stop these types of tragedies but one thing to take away from this story is to be aware of those around you and pay attention to those you care for - more government oversight and involvement is not the answer - more parent and relative oversight and involvement is preferred - enough of that - what is for breakfast? Hell, what is for dinner? I saw an interesting Dilbert cartoon in which a consultant is spouting nonsense and is paid big bucks to consult - "Don't ping my cheese with your bandwidth!" - love that - hits close to home with some of the funny stuff that is thrown out there and makes little or no sense - not like this most important information that I am sharing with the world - pay attention! You don't want to miss any of this! But I am running out of crap to spew so goodbye and goodbye!

  1. I'll comment on your comment about the local murder case. I disagree that the answer doesn't lie in more government oversight. Sure, in a perfect world people should be held accountable for their actions and other people should hold them accountable. How can a family or a community hold anyone accountable without a trusted governing body to go to. "Trusted governing body" yes, oxymoron, I know. But really, doesn't an impartial third party make sense? Relatives can't just take a child from their parents if they suspect abuse. Especially if the parent isn't willing to give them up. There will never be a flawless system. But until incompetant, idiots can get it through their parentally cracked skulls that it's not ok to berate, beat and murder their own children there has to be a social system to protect innocent children.
