Ramblings of an American Madman

Ramblings of an American Madman - Just another Day - just another day in the life of a guy so full of joy and happiness - a guy so grateful for the wonderful people around him - a guy so grateful for a loving family and so many caring friends - a guy so grateful for the support and help in my continued quest for complete peace - OH MY GOD! If I were so inclined, but I am not - what a syrupy sweet spewing of niceness - wow - not sure what happened - must be feelin' the "holidays are just about over euphoria" - oh, how the hell do I know - know what I mean?
Yes, thank you for all the well wishes while I was recuperating - this is the first page full of words submitted since the "incident" - the brain is a delicate object and I am told functions best when connected to another part of your body but can't remember which part that would be - but thank you for the encouragement and strength to rebound and continue my journey - one step at a time, one day at a time - anyway - what has everyone been up to? How was the day? Ok!
Started today and previous days since we last encountered with ceramic mugs filled with hot goodness I like to call 'Love' - some people call it 'love' - I prefer 'Love' or coffee works too - pretty lazy the last couple of days - winter time is like that - do what you can indoors - hole in wall where I have been banging my head - and other stuff - Xmas is packed away for another year - always get a feeling of a fresh start to the new year when the last Xmas ornament is neatly crammed into the storage space designated for seasons - we have Fall stuff, Spring stuff, Halloween, Easter, Valentine's Day, 4th of July, Canada Day and all other seasons and holiday decorations neatly crammed into their designated place - cataloged and filed in alphabetic order and by calendar sequence - what really threw me off years ago was the whole Washington's birthday and Lincoln's birthday consolidated into one holiday - had to redo the whole storage system - then throw Martin Luther King in the mix - talk about not knowing where to start - heck I didn't know where to start - that's what I am talking about - anyway - my life, you know!
So I heard something about a guy trying to blow up a plane - wait a minute - every time I get on a plane I almost have to get undressed - although I learned you should wait for them to ask before taking your pants completely off to show them your 'weapon' - I was told that not everyone calls it their 'weapon' and it is ok to take on the plane, just don't show everyone - so how did some guy on a terrorist list get on several flights with pants full of explosive? Anyway...
It wasn't so much the cement walls that bothered him, it was the color. Cement or concrete should never be painted gray. It's concrete, it's gray already, don't enhance the grayness of the concrete. He would have settled for any color besides gray. How about pink, maybe a bright orange? Concrete looks nice with a bright blue coating. Anything but gray. Did the world intend to completely punish him by painting an already gray substance even a grayer gray? It wasn't so much the cement walls that bothered him.
Big Larry and Hambone wish all of the patrons of the Stage Stop a very merry christmas and don't worry - the roller dog machine is being fixed and should be back in time for new years!
The ground was so frozen that even the heaviest of the pack left no footprint - Bye ho Bye!

Ramblings of an American Madman

Ramblings of an American Madman - Just another Day - just another day in the life of a 16th century shoemaker - mending the shoes of the working class, a leather patch here, a new soul there - yes, I meant to spell it soul and not sole - getting deep with this one - making a custom pair of shoes for the king, who by the way has worn his shoes on the wrong feet for years but no one has the guts to tell him "Hey King, you're shoes are on the wrong feet" - probably because he would say "But noble sir, these are the only feet I have, and by the way where did you get that lovely ascot?" Our king is like that - anyway just another day in the life!
Started today like most days - woke screaming from an ongoing nightmare and didn't dare fall back to sleep because of the furry little thoughts that would creep back in once my mind slipped into that hallway between the sleep and awake rooms - nah, just woke up and was ready to rumble - pretty typical Saturday - maybe Sunday will bring better sleeping results.
Is it wrong to be able to entertain yourself or to amuse yourself? Not talking about that you perv - I know that is ok - talking about finding amusement in the everyday and then giggling to myself about it - you know, kind of like a private joke just between you and yourself - or irony, satire or that other thing, pain - Is that wrong? You are getting a headache aren't you.
Had a long talk with Hambone the other day - hadn't seen or heard from him in awhile - he was sick with the flu and was staying at his sister's house - or someones house - maybe it wasn't the flu - anyway, had a long talk with Hambone.
The pressure is on when the warning light starts flashing - will the task be completed before the time runs out? This is too much pressure for one person - should have more time to complete such a difficult set of tasks - almost there, can't stop now - done.
Who was the person that decided no two snow flakes are alike? Bye fu Bye!

Ramblings of an American Madman

Ramblings of an American Madman - Just another Day - Just another day in the life of a 20th century adult in modern civilization - dealing with modern civilized issues - things that even just a few years ago would have been unheard of - oh the joys of adulthood in modern civilized times - who knew you would have to fight every month with the cell phone company over messing up your bill - or argue with the wireless company about long term plans and such - guess it beats worrying about if the Vikings are going to invade your village and cut off your wee wee and send it out to sea on a burning raft - no not the football team Vikings, although I hear they can party with the best of them - anyways, feeling ok for the moment about stuff and really, isn't that what life is all about? The precious moments of serenity, no matter how fleeting, crap, do I really have to get up and go to work tomorrow? Fleeting, fleeting...
So, started today like most days, coffee, coffee, coffee and waiting for people to come do some work on house - little bump in plans but everything turned out ok - thank you to all involved - very much appreciate your effort - feeling a moment of serenity right now - and heat also!
To all the drivers who forget how to drive in snow from year to year, laughing at your ass if you slide off road - it's snow people, it's slick people, can't do 65 on freeway - slick? Not funny if you have serious accident though, but remember - slick, snow is slick and please slow down.
Big Larry seems to be doing all right in this cold - remember he bought a new coat earlier this year and said it is keeping him warm - he also said he can hide a six pack of beer underneath coat and no one notices - don't want to know how he gets beer or where he needs to sneak beer to - suppose one day will need to bail him and his coat out of jail - again.
She was feeling good about the night. Friday night was usually a good night to go out. The parties were a little more spontaneous, payday and all. Nothing too planned, just hit the bars and go hard. If she was lucky tonight might be the night. Of course, with the way she operated any night could be the night.
Something to ponder - is a triple patty hamburger better than three single patty hamburgers? hmmm... Bye oh Bye!

Ramblings of an American Madman

Ramblings of an American Madman - Just another Day - just another day in the life of a dude that is relatively ignorant about computers and the Internet and world wide web and URL's, http's, com., org., copy, paste, send, view, right click, left click, escape, F1, F2 and FU... but otherwise just another day.
Had several people ask how come I haven't been posting for the last week or so and I must confess it is because I am ignorant of computers for the most part. I was unable to share my Thanksgiving ramble and so I thought something was broken, like maybe the little wire that connects this blog to the outside world was broken or something. That is how my mind works or doesn't work - take your pick. So anyway, with the help of my technical support daughter I figured it out and now the world may enjoy ramblings once again on a regular basis - hello girls!
Started today as with many days by waking - always good - getting out of bed - good too - and then downing a large volume of coffee - which had me wired and ready to rumble by 7:30 or so this morning - wow, those 'bucks people can roast a mean bean - I couldn't sit down, couldn't stand still either - hell I was pacing in the kitchen just watching a pot of water boil - I rub coffee grounds on my wrists and ankles at pulse points to get the full caffeine effect - well, maybe just one wrist - ok, ok, ok.
Has anyone been following what is going on in the world? I know I ask this a lot but sometimes I lose track of world and other events - let's see, any earthquakes, floods, bombings, plane crashes, world famous golfers cheating on their wives? Anything like that? Oh, ok. Turns out Tiger is quite the dog and his wife has a wicked follow through with a 9 iron.
If you see Big Larry let him know some girl has been calling and wants him to contact her - she said something about being late and not remembering if she was in Idaho or Montana around the first of October - also something about Big Larry owing her $20 bucks, good luck with that!
The skin on the back of his hand was crawling like the skin of a snakes belly. He could flex his hand and the skin would move like a wave, a psychedelic picture, flowing and moving with the bone and muscle underneath. He sat there for hours just watching his skin moving, crawling, twitching with the ticking of the clock. His eyes locked on the back of his hand.
Have you ever been to Wichita? Me either. Bye lordy Bye.
